FAQ for Online Training

Here’s what you need to know before we start online.

Online can’t be as good as normal face-to-face classes, right?

My group classes and private sessions are a two-way interaction- meaning I can see you and tell you what adjustments to make, just as if we were in the same room. I can still see if your left hip is hiking up 2 centimeters or if you are holding tightness in your left shoulder. The most common thing I hear after someone’s first online session is that they are shocked by how “normal” the session felt.

I did a Zoom class once and it felt just like watching YouTube...

I have always taught online like I teach face-to-face classes: direct and client-focused. In group classes, I might have a model demoing each move or I will set up each exercise but then will come back closer to the camera to give you direct feedback. The point is for you to get a great workout, not me.

What kind of tech setup do I need?

You need a desktop, laptop, tablet or phone with a webcam and microphone and a strong WiFi connection. I recommend using a laptop because it’s easier to adjust the angle of the camera as you move from the floor to standing. Phones work alright, but I would personally opt for a larger screen. Some people enjoy working with Bluetooth headphones, but they aren’t required.

Do I need any equipment?

Personal Training

The Semester Online gives you the option to train on a Wunda Chair and Spine Corrector from your home. During the program, you will receive the equipment on loan.

For drop-in personal training, we can work with or without equipment or props, depending on what you have available.

Group Class

Beyond a mat, you don’t need anything else! Sometimes we do class with household items such as towels or pillows, but you don’t need to buy any new equipment. If you have a theraband/exercise band, please bring that as well.
